The Citizenship Route Determines the Document List
Investment, marriage, general naturalization, descent and other citizenship routes do not use one identical file. This page focuses mainly on Pakistani applicants using the exceptional investment route while explaining which documents belong to the personal, family and investment sections.

Applicants still confirming their route should first review Turkish Citizenship Requirements for Pakistanis.
1. Route-Specific Citizenship Application Form
The application form must match the legal route. NVI lists the VAT-4 form for exceptional acquisition, the route commonly used after a qualifying investment has been confirmed. Marriage, general naturalization and other routes use different forms.
Do not download and complete a form solely because another investor used it. The authority handling the file should confirm the current version, included family members, signatures and supporting declarations.
2. Valid Passport and Nationality Evidence
The main applicant and each included family member should have a valid passport or other accepted nationality document. The spelling used in the passport should normally become the reference spelling across the application file.
- Use clear copies of the identity and validity pages
- Check passport expiry before beginning the process
- Use identical names in the investment, bank and application records
- Keep previous passports where they explain a name or identity change
- Prepare separate copies for every included applicant
3. Birth and Identity Records
A birth certificate, population record or equivalent civil document may be used to establish the applicant's date and place of birth, parents and identity details. Pakistani applicants should check that these details match the passport and family records before translation.
Where a later correction, adoption, name change or different date appears in the record, obtain the supporting official document rather than attempting to explain the difference only through an informal statement.
4. Civil-Status and Marriage Documents
The file should show whether the main applicant is single, married, divorced or widowed. Where a spouse is included, the marriage record should identify both parties consistently.
- Marriage certificate or official marital-status record
- Divorce judgment or divorce registration where applicable
- Death certificate of a former spouse where relevant
- Evidence of a legal name change after marriage or divorce
- Supporting record where marriage details differ between documents
5. Documents for Children
Each included child needs a separate identity and relationship file. Birth records should identify the parents, while custody or consent documents may be needed where both parents are not applying together.
- Child's valid passport
- Birth certificate or equivalent record
- Recent photographs in the requested format
- Custody judgment where one parent has legal custody
- Parental consent where required
- Death, divorce or guardianship records affecting parental authority
Age and dependency should be checked early because family eligibility can differ according to the selected citizenship ground.
6. Photographs and Applicant Contact Information
The citizenship and residence files may require biometric photographs in a specified size and format. Obtain the current requirement before printing large quantities because different procedures may use different standards.
Provide a reliable phone number, email and address information where requested. These details may be used for appointments, document requests and official communication.
7. Investment Confirmation Documents
The citizenship authority needs evidence that the qualifying investment was completed and confirmed by the responsible Turkish authority. The investment file depends on whether the applicant used real estate, a bank deposit, fixed capital, bonds, qualifying fund shares, private pension contribution or job creation.
The investment-confirmation document is different from final citizenship approval. It establishes the investment ground on which the citizenship application may proceed.
For the available thresholds and confirmation authorities, use Minimum Investment for Turkish Citizenship.
8. Property Documents for the Real Estate Route
A property-based file should connect the exact real estate, accepted value, payment trail, title registration and three-year restriction. A general sales brochure or reservation receipt is not sufficient.
- Property agreement and exact unit identification
- Price Determination Certificate or current accepted value record
- Foreign-currency purchase certificate
- Bank remittance documents
- Final title deed or qualifying preliminary-sales registration
- Three-year no-sale annotation or commitment
- Certificate of conformity issued after the compliant process
The official Your Key Türkiye roadmap explains the property agreement, value determination, currency certificate, title process, three-year annotation and certificate-of-conformity stages.
Before purchasing, review Property for Turkish Citizenship.
9. Bank Transfer and Source-of-Funds Records
Investment payments should be traceable and consistent with the applicant, seller, investment amount and official file. Preserve the complete banking history rather than only the final receipt.
- Bank statements showing the availability of funds
- SWIFT or domestic remittance confirmations
- Currency-conversion and purchase certificates where required
- Correct beneficiary and account-holder information
- Property or investment reference in the payment description
- Receipts for deposits, balance payments and refunds
Bank compliance may also require evidence showing the legitimate source of the funds. Prepare this before a transfer deadline rather than after a payment is delayed.
10. Investor Residence-Permit Documents
Exceptional investment applications generally include a residence-permit stage under the applicable investor category. This file is separate from the citizenship application even when the two processes are coordinated.
Depending on the current procedure, the residence file may include the application form, passport copy, photographs, health insurance or exemption evidence, fee receipts, investment confirmation and address or representation documents.
11. Turkish Translation and Notarial Certification
Foreign official documents must be prepared in the form accepted by the Turkish authority. NVI guidance states that documents issued by foreign authorities and submitted in citizenship applications should be accompanied by Turkish translations and notarial certification.
The official NVI citizenship-services guidance also notes that authentication of foreign official documents follows the applicable population-services rules.
- Translate the final corrected document, not an outdated version
- Include stamps, endorsements and back pages in the translation
- Keep the source document attached to the translated copy
- Confirm whether apostille or consular legalization applies
- Use the same Turkish spelling across related family records
12. Power of Attorney and Representation Papers
A representative may handle authorised citizenship, residence or investment tasks under a properly drafted power of attorney. The document should identify the representative and state the exact authority being granted.
A broad power to receive money, sell property or manage unrelated assets should not be included merely because the citizenship file is being handled remotely.
13. Service-Fee and Application Receipts
Keep official receipts for citizenship application services, residence procedures, translations, notarization and other required government payments. Citizenship service fees may be updated, and the payable amount may depend on the route and number of people included.
This document page does not use a fixed annual fee because current charges should be checked close to submission. Full budget categories are covered in Turkish Citizenship Investment Cost.
Common Problems in Pakistani Document Files
- Different name spellings across passports and family records
- Birth dates or parental details that do not match
- An expired passport during the application period
- Marriage, divorce or custody history not fully documented
- Translations prepared before the original record was corrected
- Bank payments made from unexplained or unrelated accounts
- Property records identifying a different unit or seller
- Assuming investment confirmation is final citizenship approval
When Should the Documents Be Prepared?
Identity and family documents should be reviewed before selecting an investment. This provides time to renew passports, correct civil records, obtain custody or consent documents and resolve spelling differences before the banking and property stages begin.
Translations and legalization should be arranged after the correct source documents and receiving authority are confirmed. Preparing every document too early can create unnecessary expense if a record expires or the authority requests a different format.

Conclusion
The documents required for Turkish citizenship are determined by the application route and family circumstances. An investment applicant normally needs a route-specific form, consistent identity and family records, investment confirmation, traceable payment evidence and properly prepared Turkish translations.
Pakistani applicants should verify the personal file before completing the investment and should confirm the latest checklist with the authority handling the application. For the complete Pakistan-to-Türkiye workflow, continue with How to Get Turkish Citizenship from Pakistan.
